Do you use Apple Messages?

Apple Messages is a free app, you can send and receive messages from anyone on a Mac or iOS device. iMessage lets you send messages to anyone on a Mac, or an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 5 and send photos, videos, documents, as well as sharing screen.
If you have a Mac, look for under Applications folder Apple Messages. You can set up your account in a few clicks.
If you were using previously iChat you can easily adapt familiar Messages app. Basically Messages replaces iChat.

Steps by Step Messages Guide:

Step 1: Download Messages for Mac – if you have the app skip this step
Step 2: Install Messages for Mac – if you have Messages, just run the app
Step 3: Accept the License Agreement
Step 4: Complete the Installation Process
Step 5: Restart Your Mac
Step 6: Add IM Accounts to Messages (such as gmail or Yahoo email)

For iMessage, you need an Apple ID. If you set up an iTunes or iCloud account, you already have an Apple ID. If you don’t have an Apple ID, you can create one in Messages. You can also use your AIM, Jabber, Google Talk, or Yahoo! account to connect Messages.

How to Set up Message?
Choose Messages > Preferences, click Accounts, and then select iMessage in the Accounts list.

If you don’t have an Apple ID, click Create Apple ID. You need to enter your Apple ID to start using Message app.

Click Add Email, and then enter email addresses. You can also add phone number if you want to use to receive messages on your iPhone.
When you add a new email address for your Apple ID, a validation email is sent to that address. Follow the instructions in the email so that the address can be used with Messages.

If you have a phone number associated with your Apple ID, it is automatically added to the list. When you set up your iPhone to use your Apple ID, your phone number is associated with your Apple ID.

To do so; click Add (+), and then choose the type of account you want to use from the Account Type pop-up menu.

When you logged in Messages, you can choose which what to see on your Messages window. To do so click on View on main menu top of your screen.

With Messages app (iChat for users on older systems) you can do screen share with your friends. Screen share works between MAC Messages users. To do so make sure screen sharing is enabled in Messages by going to the Video menu and looking for “Screen Sharing Enabled”. If the window shows “Disabled”, then click to enable it. Now choose your friend ( in your buddy list) you want to share your screen with and right click on your friend’s name and choose screen share..
