Mixed Veggie Borek Recipe
1 Package Filo Dough #9 ( the bigger number is better )
1 package frozen spinach ( unfroze the spinach before using it, you can use fresh chopped spinach too)
2 medium size potatoes ( boiled and thinly sliced )
2 zucchini ( shredded )
1/2 cup feta cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheese
Using between filo dough sheets:
2 cups of milk
1/3 cup olive oil
1 tbsp sesame seeds ( sprinkle on top of the last layer )
How to make borek?
Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a very large pan that fits the filo dough. First boiled the potatoes and chopped them thinly.
In a frying pan, add olive oil, mix together potatoes, spinach and zucchinis. Cook a few minutes. In a large oven tray put a few flakes of filo dough into pan. With a spoon pour milk a little and put some veggie mixture. Then add a few more layers add ingredients again. When you finish all ingredients, put last a few flakes and pour egg on it. After evenly cover the egg all the top layer sprinkle some sesame seeds.
Cook the borek about 30 minutes in the oven. 325F about 20 minutes and make it 350F another 10 minutes.
