Are you tired of ordinary toothpaste taste? I do, so time to time I make homemade toothpaste. I like coconut flavor lately. It is simple to make it, it takes only a few minutes.
Natural coconut oil based toothpaste
This formula has mild coconut flavor so you do not taste of strong hydrogen peroxide and baking soda.
Coconut oil based toothpaste Recipe
3 tbsp baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
1/2 tsp hydrogen peroxide (3% solution)
1 tbsp coconut oil + 1/4 tsp (warm enough to be liquid, which means above 76 degrees F)
1/4 tsp pure lemon extract
10 drops Myrrh
Put baking soda in a bowl, add the other ingredients and mix them until you achieve a proper paste texture. Add a small amount of baking soda if it’s runny; add more coconut oil if it’s too dry. Taste, and add more essential oil if you want a more flavorful paste. It is suggested to store in an opaque container (required to protect the hydrogen peroxide).
I use small glass jar with a tight lid. Scoop it on to your toothbrush and brush as usual.
Alternatively you may use those: 10 drops clove, peppermint, or citrus pure essential oil instead of pure lemon extract. You may also add 2-3 drops of liquid stevia if you prefer a sweeter tooth paste.
