I love spreading pesto on my bread. However I do not like buying pesto from grocery stores. Most of them way too oily and garlicky.
So today I collect basil and parsley from my garden and made my own pesto! It is simple to make it and you can keep in the jar for your sandwiches.
Homemade pesto recipe
1+ 1/2 cups of fresh basil leaves, washed thoroughly.
1/2 cup fresh parsley
1/4 cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 cup of pine nuts
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup grated (super fine) Parmesan cheese
Wash basil leaves and parsley leaves thoroughly. Let it dry. In a blender, place basil, parsley, Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper and pine nuts. Blend until all ingredients have melded. Add olive oil into the mixture.
You can keep the pesto in a glass jar in your refrigerator.
